The Yoga Foundations Program at Yogshala Westmount is a 40-hour, part-time course designed for those who wish to build a strong, authentic base in Hatha Yoga. Whether you are beginning your journey or looking to refine your practice, this program offers a balanced blend of practice, theory, and inner exploration. Over one month, you will experience yoga as it was meant to be—intentional, structured, and transformative. Course Overview Duration: 1 Month (40 Hours Total) Schedule: 4 Days / Week Time: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM Format: Part-Time (In-Studio) Location: Yogshala Westmount Each session is designed with: → 1 Hour Practical Practice → 1 Hour Theory & Understanding What You’ll Learn This course goes beyond simply “doing yoga.” You will understand why and how each practice works. Sukshma Vyayama (Subtle Yogic Movements) Build awareness in the joints and muscles through foundational movements that prepare the body safely. Surya Namaskar (Sun Salutation) Learn breath-synchronized flow, alignment, and variations to create strength and fluidity. Yoga Postures (Asanas) Develop correct technique, posture alignment, and stability in foundational Hatha Yoga poses. Pranayama (Breathwork) Understand and practice breathing techniques to enhance energy, focus, and calmness. Meditation (Dhyana) Cultivate stillness, clarity, and awareness through guided meditation practices. Bandhas (Energy Locks) Introduction to internal energy control and subtle body awareness to deepen your practice. Who Is This Course For?
