Service Description

200-Hour Classical Haṭha Yoga Teacher Training **September 1–December 12, 2026 | Yogshala, Montreal West** Yogshala’s 200-Hour Classical Haṭha Yoga Teacher Training is a small-group program for students who want to deepen their practice, understand Yoga beyond physical postures and develop the knowledge and confidence required to teach. Rooted in traditional Haṭha Yoga, the program combines āsana, Sūrya Namaskāra with mantras, prāṇāyāma, meditation, philosophy, functional anatomy, teaching methodology, sequencing, ethics and supervised practicum. Join to become a teacher or simply to study Yoga more deeply. No previous teaching experience is required. ## Weekly Schedule **Tuesdays · 6:00–9:00 PM** Yoga history, philosophy, classical texts, ethics, Sanskrit and yogic psychology. **Thursdays · 6:00–9:00 PM** Teaching methodology, sequencing, cueing, demonstration, observation, modifications, consent and professional development. **Saturdays · 10:00 AM–2:00 PM** Classical Haṭha practice, āsana technique, Sūrya Namaskāra, preparatory movements, prāṇāyāma, meditation, mudrā and bandha. **Sundays · 10:00 AM–2:00 PM** Teaching laboratories, peer practice, mentorship, feedback and supervised practicum. The final practicum and graduation will be held on **Saturday, December 12, from 10:00 AM–2:00 PM**. ## What You Will Learn Students will learn to establish a consistent sādhana, understand Yoga’s history and philosophy, practise and teach foundational Haṭha āsanas safely, guide breathwork and meditation, apply functional anatomy, recognize contraindications, offer modifications, create balanced sequences and teach beginner-friendly classes. Curriculum * Techniques, Training and Practice · 80 hours * Anatomy and Physiology · 30 hours * Yoga Humanities · 35 hours * Professional Essentials · 55 hours **Total: 200 instructional hours** Graduation requires completion of all hours, assignments, a 40-day sādhana journal, practice teaching, written assessment, final practicum and community sevā.
